David McKay is the founder of Silver Thread Media Group — a front of house engineer, monitor engineer, guitar/bass and backline technician, photographer, and filmmaker with a background as both an actor and a musician. That dual perspective shapes every project: David isn't just a technician, he's an advocate for the artist, helping create a seamless and engaging experience for everyone involved.
Every story deserves to be told with compelling visuals and pristine audio. Whether capturing a moment with a camera or mixing a live performance, the goal is to blend vintage-inspired aesthetics with modern accuracy — a look and sound that's polished and clean, while still feeling timeless and authentic. That passion for story and detail carries across disciplines, from crafting a documentary-style video to engineering a live show, and across genres as a multi-genre mixer working with everything from CCM and Celtic music to Metalcore and Rock.
David's journey in production began as a teenager and led him to study it in college. Years of hands-on work — particularly through work with churches — built expertise across a wide range of live audio and visual production gear, experience that now extends to helping other content creators, churches, and production companies with their own gear consultations.
